Víno - Chateau De Fontlade Cuvée Ermite du Maunier AOC 2007
Kód: PIRR-004Detailní popis produktu
NEW NAME SAME WINEDue to the red tape -- a french speciality -- we have had to change this wine's name in 2010. We've kept the hermit and we've added the name Maunier (a contraction of the latin Monasterium) as a reminder that Fontlade was owned in the Middle Ages by the famous Saint Victor Abbey.
60% shiraz, 30% grenache and 10% cabernet sauvignon. Vines aged over 30 years.
This wine owes its structure to a long maceration (over 3 weeks)with grapes picked at phenolic maturity (brown pips).
Once the fermentation is over it is raised in recycled oak barrels for over one year before being blended in vats before bottling.
This remarkable red wine has obtained a series of medals and awards, amongst which the Bronze Award and 2 stars in the Hachette Guide 2007 as the best "coup de coeur" at an affordable price.
It has also been distinguisheg by the international Decanter Wine awards in 2007.
We only elaborate this very fine wine when we are pleased with the vintage:
The 2004 vintage has reached its peak but is still immensely enjoyable, whereas the 2006 is on its way to full maturity.. The 2007 vintage deserves to be laid down for a few years.
In magnums all our older vintages are worth a try!
